Fabrica, Benetton Group’s Media and Communication research centre, presents to the public its latest music production, EL VIAJE, the product of creative research by the young Columbian violinist Jhon William Castaño Montoya.
This video is an excerpt of the performance that took place at Fondazione Benetton, in Treviso (Italy) on April 13, 2012.
John William Castaño Montoya, accompanied by the musicians who contributed to the project, Rosa Brunello (bass), Fabio Calzavara (saxophone), Isaac De Martin (guitar), Antonio Diaz (latin percussions) and Geremia Vinattieri (percussions), accompanied the audience in an immersion into Columbian landscapes and sounds.
EL VIAJE is a voluptuous blend of South American traditions and typical cadences of the language of western music. A meandering voyage of passion and reflection through soundscapes of hills and mountains, seas and mountain chains. But it is also perceptions of the state of mind of the world, expressed through harmonious guitar chords and energetic percussion rhythms, all accompanied by the vibrant voice of the violin.
EL VIAJE is distributed by Milano Dischi (www.stradivarius.it) in Italy and abroad, also available on iTunes:
