JOINT EXHIBITION BY FABRICA AND RIT OPENING ON MAY 7 2011
May 03, 2011

Fabrica and RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) announce the exhibition “Looking Back, Designing Forward”, which is opening on May 7 at the RIT – Vignelli Center for Design  Studies during the RIT Imagine Festival and will be going until 21 May. The exhibition features fifty works of art and design, inspired by past and future advancements of humanity between 2000 and 2020.

This exhibition is the result of a two-month interdisciplinary research project in the areas of Innovation Design, Engineering, Communication Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, Video and Photography.

“Looking Back, Designing Forward” has a dual intention: first, to “look back” and identify, comment and celebrate humanity’s most radical and disruptive social, cultural, scientific, economical, political and environmental advancements of the turbulent past ten years. Second, to “design forward” to foresee, comment and celebrate the most important and evolutionary advancements that may occur in the ten years to come. Both the research project and the final exhibition aim to celebrate humanity’s innate perseverance for progressive change.
